Well, we’ve been to Epic Universe, and it really is as Epic as its name suggests.
We’ve cried while meeting Toothless and Hiccup in How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk and we’ve had our breath taken away by the new ride in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic. The other three lands were also incredible, but we have to talk about a question that many of our readers have asked: What is the shade situation in Epic Universe?
So this is a very important question because, as many of our readers know, it can get hot in Florida, and having shade in a theme park can offer some welcome relief. It’s also just not a lot of fun to be in the sun ALL day when you’re walking around. So, what’s up with the shade in Epic Universe? Well, we’ve got some bad news…

There is very little shade in Epic Universe. It’s built for large crowds, and we guess Universal just didn’t want to take up space with things like awnings and trees. Well, technically, you can find buildings that cast a shadow and the occasional tree here and there, but for the most part, you’re not going to find enough shade to get relief in the summer.
However, there are big walkways, so at least you won’t feel so hot with so many people crowded around you, so there’s that.

It’s going to be pretty tough once the summer months roll around. So, if you are planning on visiting during those months, make sure you stay hydrated. Drink more water than you think you need because all that time in the sun is going to dehydrate you. Have a meal, check out a show, go in a shop — there are plenty of places to take a break!

Also, wear sunscreen. That sun is brutal and will fry your skin as if it were an egg in a hot skillet. You might also want to invest in a cooling fan and cooling towels to keep you as cool as possible during your visit.
So, yes, please keep that in mind if you’re visiting Epic Universe this summer — take care of yourself!
